A friend on here tipped me of about last night’s Bonfire which I missed like most of the times because I'm asleep. @Grammax s. hosted (congrats on 4001 days Granmax) and asked to mention what was the thing that helped you the most in keeping your quit. I thought about that a lot today.

The first thing was that when I quit I decided I was going to stick to it. Sounds simple but extremely important IMO. So that’s one. But then I thought of the Q. I would not have kept my quit without the Q. So that’s 2 things. Then, through a post at the Q, I learned about Alan Carr’s Easy Way. Read that and it was a huge help in keeping my quit. Three.

Met some very nice people here. Who I can talk about quitting and keeping our quits like nowhere else. Some have become true friends by now. Four.

I’ve seen people die here too. Strong and stark reminders of what smoking does to us. Extremely helpful in keeping my quit. Miss you @Joe b. Five. The people staying here for years and being so extremely helpful and giving me incentive to try to help myself. Six.

Also I’ve seen some posts and comments that infuriate me because I think they are counterproductive and right out stupid sometimes. They are helping me a lot too in my quit because I want to learn to react to them in a positive and productive way. Got things to learn there. Seven.

I can go on for quite a while. Things outside the Q too. How I want to make the transfer of lessons learned in my quit to the rest of my life. And that I need to keep my quit for that of course. How my lungs have gotten SO much better. My sense of smell. The money saved.

So in my head thinking about this turned out to be into one of the scenes I love from Life of Brian. Love the whole movie actually, but this scene immediately came to mind when I was beginning to think about this.

In the end the Q that’s the one thing that has made me keep my quit until now. I’m not done here yet. I can be of use here and it’s of great use to me. NOPE is the only way! (which is one more huge thing I learned here). Love you all.
