18 years quit:   Feb 20 2019 “What advice do you offer a brand-new quitter?”

18 years quit and going strong! What’s the best thing about being a nonsmoker? New quitters need your experience!

Everything is better being a non smoker. I can not imagine having smoked another single cigarette or had the cigarettes intrude on my life another single day. Life is beautiful although it is not always full of roses and rainbows. It has it's challenges, both good and bad, and we have to get through that. How can you do Life if every time you take a puff you are dropping your blood oxygen level, making it harder for you to breathe, harder for your heart to pump and committing slow suicide?

I smoked for so long. Even though my junkie told me I could quit anytime, I do not think I ever really thought I could until I buckled down and did it. I Quit at the Q. My own resolve to Quit and the Q got me through. I doubt I would have done it without the Q. I do not remember much about my first bit. I remember chewing lost of Dentyne gum, three pieces at a time, I remember living at the Q, and I remember tears. I have been through awful where I remember every single second; stopping smoking was not one of those times. (It may have felt so at the time but has ceased to be a remembered bad event in my life).

Our road of life is not always smooth and not always clear of obstructions and wrong turns, still, we continue on. Same with the Quit. It is not going to be painless and effortless and without incident or being uncomfortable.

I am so grateful I quit. Soon after I quit I was just relieved to be free of the Nicomonster. On the other side of a suffocating addiction. There is nothing that the cigarettes ever did for me except make me want another one. And hurt me.You have to stand firm and say NO MORE. Pal up w your Quit people here and do it together. Seeing other's ahead of me be successful is what got me through. In my thick head, seeing that if they could do one day, maybe just maybe , I could too.

Give yourself the chance to see YOU smoke free. You will never know what a difference it will make in your life until you experience it. You can read here over and over about how happy people are that they got their life back from the cigarettes. It does not matter how old you are, how long you have smoked or what kind of physical shape you are in , you will always be better off not smoking.

Cigarettes are not your friend and they only harm. I am your friend and I am happy to help you with your struggle to Quit. You will never regret your decision to quit. You will always be thankful that you did. You will wonder why you ever smoked and why you took so long to quit. Get your power back. You CAN do it. Thanks each and every one of you for the part that you play in my life. We are together here. The Q is very important and not some strange social club. Lives are being saved here. Your life, my life and the next person's life. .. Celebrate and stay with me.. on the smoke free road.
