"Between my dad, work, the garden, upcoming second surgery and canning I have lost track of time. We are just 3 short days away from 900 days smoke free. Smoking has not crossed out minds on a regular basis in a very long time. A few nags here but nothing like those early days. We are vigilant and understand we are only one little tiny puff away from putting that addict into full gear but believe me when I tell you, I thought we would never see this day. We wee serial quitters and every quit seemed to be harder and harder until one day it clicked. It was not any easier but we took smoking off the table and said this is our new life. In the beginning we were like a 2 year old in the candy isle throwing a tantrum because no candy was allowed. Not only did I think we would see this day, but that we would be happy and free. Both Wayne and I have learned so much about ourselves in the last nearing 900 days. If you are struggling in this moment,I can tell you that we are on the other side and there is a life without the addiction demanding you live around its ways and not yours. They are all lies, nothing is going to make it better, only you can make it better you have the control, not the addict and each day you get stronger. Keep going one minute at a time is how its done at times, one more minute behind you is one more minute away from that addict. Hugs to you all.
