REPOST  From: Regina H. 1122 Days Quit (Date Unknown)

I know every quit is different but I wanted to share something with all of you.

I have been struggling the last couple of months due to stressful life situations...

I had an “A Ha!” moment about a week ago and it has changed my quit, and literally took the “romancing the smoke” away.

This is the quote I read on quitsmokingonline.com.  Don't get upset with me if I post this once a week, because it truly was an eye opener for me.  I hope it helps some of you and I hope you all have a happy smoke free day...  Here is the quote:

"Every time you have a cigarette you mentally and emotionally ALLOW yourself (even if you are not conscious of this happening) to have a BREAK from all your WORRIES, problems and FEARS and for that moment you FEEL Good.  Happy.  Safe.”

You have simply and unconsciously transferred pleasurable feelings of peace, relaxation and safety (that you allowed yourself to experience) to the daily ACT or RITUAL of smoking...

When we smoke what we REALLY WANT are THESE FEELINGS and SENSATIONS...  and NOT the darn cigarette.

My Note: So the next time you want to smoke...  Go into a relaxing space with a comfortable chair and learn to meditate!  Think about it!  It is the quickest way to make your quit easier!  Learn how to relax and take a mental break without the deadly effects of smoking a cigarette !
